Christmas Wedding Theme
Christmas Wedding Theme Ideas
A Christmas wedding theme is fun any time of the year,
even if you are not getting married at Christmas or
anytime during the holiday season. If both the bride and
groom love Christmas its fun to do Christmas any time
of the year. A Christmas wedding theme in July may take
guests by surprise, but that may be half the fun of the
theme is the look on guests faces!
If you want to have a laid back, silly, joyous type
wedding celebration a Christmas wedding theme is
definitely a good candidate for you! With a Christmas
theme you can really get playful and have a lot of fun
planning your wedding. You can go way over the top with
the Christmas theme, or just have it be an underlying
tone, whatever suits your tastes. No matter what, your
guests are sure to get swept up in the season even if it
only lasts one night.
A Christmas wedding theme can start with the
invitations. You can have an invitation made with Santa
on the front, or even have a naughty and nice list that
displays the name of your invited guests and then
informs them of where to be for the celebration. You can
really get creative if you want to make your own
invitations, or you have a typesetter who is willing to
bend over backwards for you. Of course, if you want the
Christmas theme to surprise guests youll want to select
a more toned down wedding invitation.
At the wedding itself you can choose to decorate in red
and green, or you can play it down a bit and just have a
couple items that indicate its a Christmas themed
wedding. If the bride is really bold, she can come down
the aisle to a Christmas carol, which would really be
unique. Red and green candles, garland, holly, and even
mistletoe would be appropriate decorations for the
wedding.
At the reception you can really go crazy with the
Christmas wedding theme. Instead of a typical gift table
see if you cant find a sleigh or create a sleigh for
gifts to go in. This would be a fun twist on something
you need to have. You could even ask a friend or
relative to dress up like Santa or even elves, and
carefully place all the gifts in the sleigh.
When toasts are made for the new bride and groom
consider offering hot chocolate or eggnog, or serve it
with a wedding cake. Guests will get a kick out of the
small details like that, and who doesnt like eggnog?
At the reception be sure that at least a few Christmas
songs are played so that people can dance the night away
and enjoy your Christmas wedding theme in all respects.
Your Christmas wedding theme is sure to strike a few
people odd, but overall people will really enjoy
themselves. At the end of the night, you could have
Santa arrive and dole out gifts or favors to each guest
for their attendance! One more way to really work the
Christmas theme into the night!
